What is Among Us?
Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio InnerSloth. It was released in 2018 but gained a massive surge in popularity in 2020. The game takes place in a space-themed setting where players take on one of two roles: most are Crewmates, but a predetermined number are Impostors.
The goal for the Crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors’ goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all their tasks. Players suspected of being Impostors may be eliminated via a majority vote, which can be called by players at any time.
Gameplay is simple but engaging, with players communicating during meetings to discuss who they believe the Impostor is based on the evidence of their behavior and the tasks they pretend to perform. The game can be played with friends or online with other players and supports 4-15 players per game.
